A resourcing parish?
How do we view Chilwell as a parish - and how can we not only reach the 14000 people who live in the parish, but share what we have with other churches?
Before becoming Vicar of Chilwell, Alan undertook research into churches which had shown growth.
Using that research and the research of others to inform his vision for Chilwell, Alan presents several models of church and poses questions about the shape of Chilwell as a parish.
We could be seen as an affilliated group of pastoral-based congregations - or (and here is a challenge) we could be seen as a church of 400 in a parish of 14000.
- What are we good at?
- What are our strengths?
- How can we share those with other churches?
- How can we become a resourcing parish?
- What does it mean anyway?
