At times you may feel young - other times you may feel old, but should your feelings, circumstances, or even your age, determine how old you are? And what about the wider church?
Isaiah 40 is a turning point in the book. Between chapter 39 and 40 is a 200 year gap.

The people had got used to being an oppressed and scattered people - but Isaiah 40:1 starts “Comfort, comfort my people” - God is on the move.

Life is tiring, trying to fit church life into family life and work life is really hard work, although this is probably not how God intended it. What we can do is hope in the Lord - and we will renew our strength, and soar on wings like eagles. Isaiah 40:31
