Advent is the time for preparation – getting ready to celebrate Christmas. But we are reminded that there is a second advent… be prepared!
“If I’m not excited or engaged or involved with something then I can get easily distracted. I don’t think I’m alone in my ‘distractability’.”
In the Old Testament, there are many examples that once the need to fight for survival had disappeared, the temptation to be drawn away from God and his ways would have grown – people became distracted. Joshua didn’t want this to happen.
As we continue to re-visit our core values, we look at being a generous church.
Joshua asked the people of Israel (Josh 24:2, Josh 24:15) choose today whom you will follow and serve … as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Back in April 2008 at the start of a series on Paul’s letter to the church in Rome, members of Pathway wrote some letters to encourage other churches, although nearly six months later, they have a special relevance.
When we find ourselves in less than ideal circumstances we need to be reminded that God still has his plans for us.
