Prayer: Thanksgiving

Continuing a series of talks looking at different aspects of prayer, Gary reminds us that we are to give thanks in all circumstances – not just when things are going well.

Matt Redman wrote “Blessed be Your name in the land that is plentiful … ” and it is easy to bless the Lord when everything is as it should be, the sun is shining and all’s well with the world. And blessings are something to be shared.

But he goes on to write “Blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering …”.

Reading Job, you may think that he was morbid – but he was a really positive man who know how to rejoice and bless the name of the Lord in all circumstances. Nothing is so high or so low that we can’t find a place for thanksgiving.
