Living at the Crossroads

A Litany for the Future

This prayer was used in the final Pathway service on January 10th 2010.

Pathway: The very name speaks of a journey. Lord we thank you for that journey. Thank you for the vision that birthed it and the travellers that have journeyed with us for a decade.
Thank you Lord for visions and dreams
Thank you Lord for fellow travellers

This past decade has seen people grow as leaders; people come to faith; and children grow into Godly young adults. It has seen friendships forged and heavy loads shared and carried together. It has seen people released to serve God in the wider church and in His world.
Thank you Lord for life and growth
Thank you Lord for friends

We have expected great things of God and attempted bold things for Him. We have sought new things and discovered creative ways to be His church. In some of these things we have thrived in others we have been challenged but we have done all out of love for Him.
Thank you Lord for discovery and adventure
Thank you Lord for Love

Now Lord you have guided us to a point where our Pathways join other roads and this particular journey ends. We feel richer for having been part of it and seek your wisdom and guidance for the future knowing that the best is yet to come.
Thank you Lord for new roads and fresh beginnings
Thank you Lord for guidance

We commend to you the people of the Eskdale area. We commend to you this building and the ministries held within it. We commend to you our Christian lives and our growth and development in you. We commend our future to you. We are yours and you are ours. So be it.
Thank you Lord for your church in all its beauty and wonder
Thank you Lord for the future

AMEN
