But many times our corporate prayer is not like that. Divorce, abuse, Alzheimerrsquo;s, cancer, depression and many more shells have exploded and are exploding all around us. I have ministered in two university cities and in both parishes there was a huge ministry in the vicarage for lonely and homesick students. In one of those parishes a seaside parish another huge proportion of ministry was to lonely elderly people who had moved away from their traditional home to find a dream. Romans 2:4 talks about the kindness of God which leads us to repentance. "Kindness" appears about 50 times in the Bible - mainly in the Old Testament. We believe that God has shown us kindness through loving us and accepting us in Jesus and we want to live our lives in a way that shows that kindness to the community. Bonus track! But the mirror, even if it is clean and free from imperfections cannot show the entire ceiling - but without looking in the mirror first, you may not realise that the ceiling is worth looking at. In the same way, as Christians, we should be mirrors reflecting Christ - we may be imperfect, limited reflectors, but as people look at us, they should see enough of Christ to want to have a look directly.
